It is the weekend just before the school holidays draw to a close but the roads leading to the Causeway were smooth.
Noon should have been a busy time for the roads leading up to the Causeway, according to frequent travellers to Malaysia. However, the roads were clear at that time.

Earlier this month, many motorists and commuters had complained about being locked in long traffic jams near the checkpoint.
This, after Malaysia introduced a fingerprint system which requires travellers to scan both index fingers in addition to getting their passports stamped.

Auxiliary police officers who monitor the traffic situation said there was a slight congestion on Saturday morning, but the situation eased later.
Kranji MRT station is the first Singapore stop for buses travelling out of Malaysia and travellers spoke of an overall smooth experience.

A traveller said: "It's very smooth traffic, everything was very fine...last time, I think from personal experience, about 10 to 20 minutes, but nowadays it;s about 30 minutes. Slightly longer, but there [are promises to improve it]. I think the people there tried to improve...the immigration (has) tried to improve their system to help us save our time."

I personally hope that this smooth traffic would prove to be a norm in the future rather than an exception, for it would greatly improve travelling time for our Malaysian neighbours and also for anybody going to Malaysia on holidays.
